After the superhit film Madambi, the Superstar Mohanlal and director B Unnikrishnan is pairing up for the film Grandmaster. The film tells a different kind of police story.
UTV Motion Pictures, one of the biggest productions houses in Bollywood, is making its entry to Malayalam with Grandmaster. The film is produced by Ronnie Screwvala in the banner of UTV.

Story and Cast
The movie tells the story of a divorced IPS official. He lives alone in a corner of the city without much connection to anyone. He shows reluctance to intervene in issues and skip away from all responsibilities. But once he gets to change his attitude and have to fulfil his responsibilities. He gets transferred and promoted as Inspector General. He feels to be a grandmaster who foresees the steps of his opponents and makes progress by miles. But one big mistake changes the rhythm of his life drastically.
In the opinion of director B Unnikrishnan, the film is the ‘Story of a Dark City’. Mohanlal plays the title character. Priyamani is the heroine of the movie. It is her first film with Mohanlal. Narain and Roma are playing significant characters in the movie. Mithra Kurian, Siddique, Saikumar, Sampath Raj and Jagathy Sreekumar are playing other important roles. The music is composed by Deepak Dev. The film will be released in April as a Vishu release.
